Carr Manor believe that their pupils deserve the best. The school emphasises teaching, learning and good behaviour. They strive for the best to achieve the most appropriate and innovative curriculum for all pupils.

The school has enjoyed huge success: 

 Key Stage 3 pupils achieving the highest Key Stage 3 results in the school's history;

  • latest high school attendance in Leeds reaching over 90%;
  • a positive report from a recent HMI inspection, which reported that the 'school is improving quickly and progress is encouraging';
  • new inclusion provision to meet the needs of all pupils. Led by a team of specialist staff who work with professionals from outside agencies;
  • sixth form provision in collaboration with two other high schools and further education colleges; and
  • provision of extensive curriculum opportunities at Key Stage 4 to benefit all pupils' needs and aspirations.

The School Day

The school opens at 7.45am for pupils who wish to have breakfast and/or attend pre-school activities.
The school day is divided into six one-hour sessions. Pupils are to arrive at school for 8.20am, the first lesson starts at 8.30 am. Lunch time is 1pm to 1.30pm and the last lesson finishes at 2.30pm. One day out of the week pupils will finish at 3.50pm. From 2.30 until 2.50 food will be available.

The school offers a range of extra curriculum opportunities for pupils including breakfast clubs, after school clubs and holiday activities.

School Uniform

All pupils are expected to wear school uniform. The uniform is simple, practical and smart, reflecting the positive image of the school.

Positive Behaviour

Carr Manor takes their responsibility to promote positive behaviour and attitudes to learning seriously. The school, with the aid of specially trained support staff, has an inclusive approach to behaviour management. Parents are asked to play a key role in this important area.

School Partnerships

As the school has moved into the new school building, its relationship with parents, primary partners, secondary partners, governors, members of the local community, faith groups and local businesses has become ever more important.

Carr Manor High school has benefited from the involvement and direction of its governing body, which is dedicated to enabling all pupils to achieve their true potential. The partnership between the governing body, headteacher and senior staff at the school is a major strength.
