Every pupil in year 7 has received a free book from Booked Up, run by the independent charity Booktrust. It is funded by the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF).Booked Up aims to inspire excitement about reading and discovering new books and authors.Back in September, a selection of twelve books were sent into school for the children to browse through and select the one they would like to read. The books were given out the last week of term in English lessons, where it is hoped there will be some excellent book reviews written in the New Year. We hope the children enjoy their chosen book and that it encourages them to continue reading at home or in school.

The Library holds copies of all the twelve books the children could choose from, giving them the opportunity to read other books they may be interested in. The School Library buys a selection of new books every year, to inspire pupils to read and borrow from the 11,000 titles we currently hold.Happy Reading!
