The school opens at 7.45am for pupils who wish to have breakfast and/or attend pre-school activities. All pupils will have to attend at least one lesson per week in Period 6. All Year 7 pupils attend two Period 6 lessons as part of their timetable and all pupils in Years 8 – 11 attend one Period 6 lesson. Please check your child’s timetable to see which day(s) they have a Period 6 lesson and note that there may be occasions throughout the year where additional support, in revising for exams for example, will be provided in Period 6. Please note, pupils are not allowed to leave the site during the school day.
The school offers a range of extra curriculum opportunities for pupils including breakfast clubs, after school clubs and holiday activities.

"Extra support has been provided for target groups; for example, through master and booster classes and additional courses. Additional after-hours study support has been targeted at pupils at risk of underachieving in order to raise standards." - HMI/Ofsted 2005

Positive Behaviour

Carr Manor takes their responsibility to promote positive behaviour and attitudes to learning seriously. The school, with the aid of specially trained support staff, has an inclusive approach to behaviour management. Parents are asked to play a key role in this important area.

"The great majority of pupils are polite, welcoming to visitors, at ease with adults and form good relationships with staff and peers." - HMI/Ofsted 2005

School Partnerships

As the school has moved into the new school building, its relationship with parents, primary partners, secondary partners, governors, members of the local community, faith groups and local businesses has become ever more important.

Carr Manor High school has benefited from the involvement and direction of its governing body, which is dedicated to enabling all pupils to achieve their true potential. The partnership between the governing body, headteacher and senior staff at the school is a major strength.
