ASDAN is an approved awarding body, offering programmes and qualifications to develop key skills and life skills. ASDAN offers a wide range of curriculum programmes and qualifications for all abilities. ASDAN programmes and qualifications blend an activity-based curriculum with the development of key skills and other personal and social skills. All ASDAN programmes and qualifications have a number of common features: - ASDAN programmes encourage candidates to develop responsibility for their own learning and assist in the personal and social development of the individual through a focus on key skills.
- They recognize achievement across the school/ college curriculum, as well as in the home, community and the world of work.
Our ASDAN courses include: - Certificate of Personal Effectiveness (CoPE)
- Wider Key Skills Qualifications- 3 units. These four qualifications are equivalent to 3.25 GCSE’s at B grade.
Pupils will need to: - Complete a number of activities or challenges to develop skills and achieve the required number of credits (requiring approximately 120 hours of work at Levels 2).
- Action plan, record achievements and review progress on challenges and skills development.
- Present an organised Portfolio of Evidence which documents work for the challenges, and provides at least one example of working at the level set, from each of the following skills units:
- WO Introduction to Working with Others
- LP Introduction to Improving own Learning and Performance
- PS Introduction to Problem Solving
- R Planning and carrying out a Piece of Research
- D Communicating through Discussion
- OP Planning and Giving an Oral Presentation
- Complete the Assessment Checklists (provided by the tutor/assessor), which cross-reference evidence to meet the requirements of the qualification.
