Along with the new year 7 pupils, three special names have arrived at Carr Manor: Bremner, Tomlinson and Trueman houses have proved a great success in their first term in school life. All pupils and staff are members of a house and have been competing in events ranging from football matches to staff charity quiz nights, and school work to talent shows to score points for their teams. Competition has been fierce, with new results being eagerly awaited.

In line with the houses, an innovative coaching system has been set up to replace the traditional tutor time. Both Ms Mander and Mr A Smith have spent considerable time and effort splitting all our pupils in to groups of around 6 to 8 and hand selecting a member of staff to ‘Coach’ them for one hour every Monday morning. The coaching groups include pupils from a range of years, which has had an immense affect on cross year relations. It has given pupils a chance to mix with pupils outside their own peer group. The groups have also been selected around interests, nationality and personality to maximise their success.
