The new resource centre offers a fantastic area, where all pupils have the opportunity to complete homework in a pleasant, supervised atmosphere. The library has eight computers that are linked up to Leeds Learning Network enabling all pupils to have safe access to the Internet.
The library also has over eleven thousand books including fiction and non- fiction, reference and revision, enabling pupils to have access to various learning resources.
All new year seven pupils will have a library induction and study skills lessons that will help them to complete individual learning in the future. Pupils have the opportunity to visit the library at morning break and lunchtimes to complete homework and quiet reading.
Mrs Ward also assists in the library at break times and after school and works with pupils to advise them on their homework.

Opening Times

Monday to Friday 7.45am to 4pm

Wide A- Wake Club

The Wide A- Wake Club has been up and running in the library for nearly six years. The aim of the club is for all pupils in years seven to twelve to be involved in and play traditional board games such as Draughts, Chess, Connect Four, Dominoes, Cards and many more, before the start of the school day, therefore improving their social skills, enabling them to make new friends and learn to respect one and other.

Every pupil in school has the opportunity to attend the club to complete homework or quiet reading. The Refectory is available at the same time as the club giving pupils the opportunity to have breakfast before coming along.
Everyone attending the club will gain points for their house while attending the Wide A- Wake club for a whole week.

For more information please contact Mr Winn who will be happy to discuss in further detail any questions you may have.
